Come and celebrate the 5th birthday of the West End Community Fridge!
We will be giving out surplus food from local supermarkets to reduce food waste; free of charge but donations are appreciated. Everyone is welcome, please bring a bag with you.
We will be making bird feeders, selling second hand cookbooks and will be joined by Faith In Community Dundee to chat about money saving tips when cooking. Learn more about Transition Dundee and the work we do to reduce food and clothing waste in Dundee as well as how to reduce food waste at home.
We have a plan in place to reduce food waste
As a community group at the Dundee Food Festival, we’re dedicated to reducing food waste. We collect surplus food from supermarkets and give it out to the community. This is a free service and open to everyone however we can accept cash or card donations which go towards the running costs of the project.
We will be joined by Faith In Community Dundee, who run the Dundee Community Food Network. They will be chatting about reducing food waste, saving energy at home through clever cooking and the work that the network does in the city.
