Eden Project Communities Big Lunch - Dundee Food Festival
Skip to Main Content

Come along and join in with the Big Lunch at Dundee Food Festival – open to all between 11am and 3pm. All you need to do is make your way to Slessor Gardens with your lunch and a picnic blanket or folding chair (a limited number of hay bales and blankets will be available).

The Big Lunch, an Eden Communities project, is the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours and communities, with millions of people coming together for a few hours of food, friendship, and fun. It connects people and encourages friendlier, safer communities where people start to share more – conversations, ideas, skills, resources and friendship. This year we’re dishing up ideas to help make it the greenest Big Lunch yet, and we’ve launched brand new resources to help get the party started, which you can check out on our website: Resources Archive – Eden Project Communities

The organisers of this event have pledged to...

Eliminate Single-Use Plastic
Incorporate Seasonal Local Produce
Reduce Food Waste

We will offer seasonal local produce, where available, and indicate these where appropriate

We will not be providing any food, but we encourage people to use fresh local ingredients and promote sustainability.

We have a plan in place to reduce food waste

As an organisation we are dedicated to reducing waste and we will be directing participants to the council’s recycling bins.

We will not use single-use plastic

We will encourage people to use green alternatives to plastic such as beeswax wrapping and other compostable packaging.
